Original Viet Cong uniform consisting of black “pajama” top and pants, as well as green boonie hat, scarf and rice tube. All items are in very good condition, showing expected field use. Boonie hat is typical VC issue in green. Hat shows field wear and some areas of sun fading, but no rips or tears. Original cloth chinstrap attached. Scarf is typical black and white checked pattern with a single red stripe. Scarf shows general minor age and wear, with some sweat staining. No rips or tears. Rice tube is standard pattern and unmarked. No rips or tears, but shows staining and soiling throughout. End ties present on both ends. Uniform top is in very good condition, with 5 buttons, all present. Top is standard two lower pocket pattern. No holes or rips present. The top is heavily soiled, and given the pattern and distribution of the soiling, it almost appears that this was a crude attempt at a camouflage pattern. The pants have the same soiling pattern as well. The pants are likewise in the same condition, with no rips or tears. Pants are elasticized at the waste, and elastic is still intact. If it weren’t for the soiling, we would rate the top and pants as excellent. We bought these as a set, and we’re selling them together as they came to us. The story attached to this set is that they uniform was found together as part of a cache of supplies in a captured village, and brought back by the GI we purchased them from. Displays great, and all you need is an AK or SKS to complete your set!
