MODEL: US Springfield Krag Carbine

For sale is a US Springfield Krag Carbine made in 1899 and in 30-40 Krag. Condition on this carbine is good, with the majority of the gun a combination of bare metal and grey. The serial number is 200xxx and indicates manufacture in 1899. We believe that this carbine was originally a Model 1898 rifle that had its metal cut down to carbine length and was then fitted into a Model 1899 carbine stock by the NRA in the 1920’s. Mechanically excellent, with a dark bore with strong rifling. No stock cartouches noted, but stock does not appear to have been sanded. Wood is in overall very fine condition, with the exception of a tiny age crack on the left side above the front of the trigger guard. Rear sight is a 1902 model, graduated to 2000 yards. Front sight blade insert missing. There is some knackering on the receiver just in front of the bolt (possibly vice marks.) Original military buttplate with trap present. Rear sight marked C and barrel band marked U. The stock is a true carbine stock. This is a C&R eligible rifle.
