For sale is a US Model 1842 Percussion Pistol manufactured by H. Aston in “Middtn, Conn” and dated 1849 on the lock. No inspector stamps visible. US marked on the lock. Original captive ramrod present. Gun works fine, and holds both full and half cock. Bore is dirty, but actually in very nice shape. Brass fittings look to have been cleaned long ago. Wood is likewise in very nice shape, with numerous small dings. BBL is approx 8″. Screws look unmolested, and overall this is a very nice example of a highly sought after US military percussion pistol.
