For sale is a Remington 1858 New Army revolver that has a US inspector cartouche on the grip, as well as proofed marks throughout the revolver. Condition on this gun is good, with some blue remaining on the rammer housing. The majority of the gun is grey with patina and areas of spotting/corrosion. Action works fine, holding both full and half cock. Cylinder rotates fine, and locks up tight. Bore has discernible rifling, and should clean better. Grips are in good condition, with a small chip at the left toe, and both sides generally pulling away from the revolver. The trigger guard has no serial number, but the serial number on the barrel and under the grips matches, and is in the 66xxx range. Grip cartouche is no longer legible, and only the boxed outline is obvious. Revolver has numerous single letter acceptance marks throughout. The gun has extensive areas of surface pitting and spotting from poor storage, but is mechanically sound, and would benefit from some attention! This antique revolver does not require an FFL.
