Mauser 1896 Broomhandle early flat side.  Manufactured approximately 1899-1900.  These were the first commercial flat sides manufactured after the conclusion of the Italian Naval Contract.  Condition is 98%, with the only loss at the point where the stock attaches to the rear of the gun.  Vivid fire blue on small parts with minor loss on sight cursor.  Bright straw on trigger.  Original 1-10 early Conehammer style sights which were still being used for these early guns. All numbers matching, including the original wooden grips.  Original wooden stock matching as well.  Gun has a bright bore with only minimal frosting from shooting corrosive ammo.  Mechanically clean and excellent.  Grips have all original varnish and are in excellent condition.  Stock shows minor dents and dings as well as having two very minor cracks in the lid.  A fantastic example of a very rare and desirable Large Ring Hammer Flat Side!
