German WWI Helmet and gas mask set. These two items came to us from an estate and family history states that they were brought back from WWI together, so we’re selling them together.

Gas Mask – Standard issue German gas mask. Condition is very good, and appears unissued, but shows age and storage wear. Lenses are in excellent condition and fully intact. Retains all original straps, and is supple with no flaking or breakage. Original carrying case included. Case is marked on bottom with soldier’s name. Original paper label included in case. Case lid has a space for extra gas mask lenses, all of which are included in their original wrappers. Filter unscrews from gas mask, and the original screw on filter cap is even included.

Helmet – Standard issue M1916 German Helmet in green. Condition is very good, retaining approx 65% original paint and balance patinated metal. Liner original and intact. German soldier’s name written under one of the liner pads. Cinch string present. Helmet has expected scuffs and dings, but no major dents. Strap makers marked, and dated 1917. A great ensemble that displays wonderfully, and has been together for nearly 100 years!
