Original German WWI M1916 pattern helmet with original leather liner.  This helmet retains well over 90% of its original autumn camouflage paint scheme.  Paint shows age fading and some scuffs especially on the crown, but still very vivid and bold.  All rivets are tightly attached and present.  Inside of helmet retains much of its original green paint, with a soldier’s name written on the inside left.  Only discernible interior stamp is ET64.  Chin strap not present.  Liner is supple and intact, showing expected but minor field wear.  Cinch string present.  An extremely nice example of an original WWI German helmet, straight from the family of the veteran who brought it back from the Great War!
