For sale is a DWM Luger made in 1914 for the German Military. It is dated 1914 above the chamber, and has the DWM crest on the toggle. Overall condition is very good, showing considerable pitting on the left side of the gun, while the right side of the gun retains about 80% original blue turning brown. All numbers are matching with the exception of the takedown lever, which is 41 numbers off, and has been with the gun for a very long time. Magazine is a proper wood bottom WWI magazine, but not matching. Magazine shows oxidation and pitting on left side, while being very nice on the right side, just like the pistol itself. Both magazine and pistol function great, and cycled dummy rounds with ease. Bore is excellent, with a bright shiny bore and sharp rifling. Wood grips do not have legible numbers any longer, but appear to be the original grips. Grips are oil soaked and darkened, with flattening of the diamonds in areas, especially on left side. Left grip also missing a tiny chip of wood near frame above magazine release. Frame cut for shoulder stock. Faded straw present on strawed small parts, with approximately 25-30%. This is an excellent shooter example of a rare 1914 manufacture Luger, particularly with such a nice bore. This gun is very nice and tight with excellent manual mechanics. This is a C&R eligible gun.
