For sale is a Colt 1911A1 in 45 ACP. This gun is in the 752xxx serial number range, and as such dates to 1941. This gun is all matching, with the frame serial number repeated on the slide under the firing pin plate. Marked on the right side of the frame with proper M1911A1 US Army as well as United States Property marking. Left side with Colt manufacturing marks and Colt rampant pony logo. Left side of frame is proofed with a P, as well as inspector initials of WB. Top of slide is marked with a P. Barrel is marked “Colt 45 Auto” as well as a “P” proof mark on left side. This gun falls into the early range of Parkerized Colt 1911s, and thus retains its original Parkerized finish. Small parts such as grip safety, magazine release, hammer and barrel are blued. Gun retains approx 70%-75% of its original Parkerized finish, but the Parkerizing has thinned and faded over the years, giving the gun a pleasant overall grey appearance. Gun is mechanically excellent with a bright bore with strong rifling. A prior owner’s social security number is lightly etched on the left side of the frame. No import marks are on the gun. Grips are in very fine condition, with no chips or cracks. We did not remove the grips because the screws are very tight, and the screws appear unturned. Magazine is a proper WWII type, made by Risdon, and marked with an R on the magazine floorplate toe. Magazine is in very good condition and works fine. This is just a really nice example of an original as issued Colt 1911A1 from the start of WWII. A rare Colt 1911 variant that isn’t in such perfect shape that you wouldn’t want to shoot it a bit. Definitely saw service, but was well cared for and will make a fine addition to any collection of WWII guns or 1911s. This is a C&R eligible gun.
