For sale is an original and non import marked Chinese Type 53 carbine in 7.62x54R caliber. Rifle is dated 1955 on receiver. Bore is bright with strong rifling and excellent mechanics. Mismatched parts throughout. Wood is poor, with extensive finish loss from jungle and combat conditions. Two piece stock has split at butt, where the stock seam was joined. Blue rates approx 80%, with areas of patina and pitting from jungle moisture. Original cleaning rod present. Rifle is mounted with an incredibly rare North Vietnamese N4 Grenade Launcher, which is a copy of a US M8 rifle grenade launcher.  Launcher is in very good overall  
condition, with well over 85% of its original blue with the balance patina. Looks to be fully functional, and clamps to rifle with a wing nut and locking collar arrangement, similar to a US M8. Only markings found are 1-6 range markings, N4 model number, and a V at the muzzle end. A standard US 22mm rifle grenade fits on this launcher. A very nice & rare ensemble, definitely brought back from Vietnam.
