For sale is an incredibly rare US Navy Mills canvas holster made for the Colt D.A. revolver. This is in the US Navy black canvas, with the early style leather endcap. The holsters with leather endcaps are considered somewhat more rare, as leather did not do well in the marine environment, and was soon replaced with metal. Original US Navy eagle and anchor button attached, and snap functions well. Leather endcap is supple and in excellent shape, with only minor crazing. Rear belt attachment is intact. Holster has had some period restitching done, with approx 2″ restitched in black thread on the right edge, and approx 1″ restitched on left side. Also, there is an approx 1″ tear on the rear at the belt attachment, and one rivet looks to be missing, and the area restitched with black thread long ago. The holster displays wonderfully, is tight on all seams and was repaired very professionally during the time of use. The holster could probably use a gentle cleaning, just to remove over 100 years worth of dust, but we have chosen to leave it as it is.
