An excellent example of a WWII Soviet Red Army Naval Infantry Commissar’s uniform, consisting of heavy woolen pea coat, pants, jumper with kerchief, striped telnyashka undershirt, Northern Fleet (Severnyi Flot) flat brimmed sailor’s hat, naval infantry belt, and a pair of incredibly rare leather rubber soled landing boots.  

Pea Coat – Black woolen pea coat in excellent condition, without maker’s marks.  Proper brass anchor buttons in two rows.  Jacket appears nearly unissued, and is in excellent all original condition, with no mothing, holes, or tears.  Has original and proper red star bullion stars on the sleeve, denoting a commissar.

Pants – Likewise in near excellent condition, showing little to no use, and also free of tears of mothing.

Jumper – Salty, showing signs of wear and some fading.  Would benefit from a professional dry cleaning.  Attached are ribbons for Medal for Battle Merit, and Order for Defense of Sevastapol.  Jumper is maker marked in Cyrillic on inside back.  Kerchief is likewise faded but solid and intact.  Ink stamped maker mark semi legible. 

Telnyashka – Excellent overall condition.  No stains or tears.  Typical WWII era construction, but in possibly unissued condition. 

Hat – Hat is overall excellent condition.  Marked Severnyi Flot, or Northern Fleet.  The Northern Fleet were the group who held the Germans at Sevastapol, and fought in some of the most brutal battles of WWII in the vicinity.  Includes original ribbon with anchors stamped on the ends.  Inside lining of hat is in excellent condition, but maker’s mark has faded, leaving only a size of “57” legible.  Red Hammer & Sickle cloisonne star attached to front of hat.

Boots – Boots are low leather rubber soled landing boots in very good condition.  No holes or abuse, although the leather could benefit from some conditioning.  Stamped with maker’s marks inside.  Still somewhat legible.  Size approximately US 9 or 10.

Belt – Wartime construction black leather belt, devoid of any maker’s marks.  Brass naval buckle in excellent condition.  Leather is supple, belt appears little used, and in overall excellent condition. 

An amazingly rare ensemble of items from one of the most elite of Red Army forces of WWII.  It would be very hard to improve upon this grouping of Soviet items, and would be a great addition to any advanced collector of Soviet Military artifacts.
