Tunic – Parade Dress Tunic for an Air Force Captain – Standard green tunic with blue air force piping. The style of tunic that would be worn at the 1945 Soviet Victory Parade. Blue collar device tabs with gold bullion accents. Shoulder boards with 4 stars and propeller devices, indicating an air force captain. Sleeves have gold bullion columns. Brass buttons with hammer and sickle design. Jacket lined in heavy grey fabric, possibly gaberdine. No maker’s marks found. Condition is overall excellent. Some extremely minor mothing to the blue piping. Jacket has evidence of having had a medal bar attached long ago, with corresponding outline still remaining, as well as some very minor attachment holes. An extremely attractive and high quality example of a very rare air force WW2 parade dress tunic as worn at the 1945 Victory Parade.

Pants – Standard blue air force trousers with blue piping. No maker’s marks found. In excellent overall condition, showing little to no use. Cut in standard cavalry riding style. Buttons on fly and at bottom of legs are flat black and unmarked, probably lend lease.

Visor Cap – Standard green body with blue piping and band. Black chin strap attached with brass hammer and sickle buttons. Bullion cockade with enamel and brass red star. Bullion wings above cockade indicating qualification as a pilot. Faded and partially illegible maker marked inside. Also, the pilot’s name is written in Cyrillic on the inside of the hat. Hat shows wear on the leather sweatband, as well as very minor mothing along the blue band. Condition overall is excellent, and displaying exceptionally nicely with this wonderful uniform.
