For sale is an M1917 US Enfield rifle made at Eddystone Arsenal. This gun has been partially sporterized, and has the following features – a Jostam rubber recoil pad was installed, a non military stock was installed on the rifle, the receiver is “in the white” having had the finish removed, and the barrel looks to have been lightly sanded. The barrel is Winchester make and dated 6-1918. No front or rear sights are installed. The receiver is not drilled or tapped, and the only hole in it is for the rear sight retaining screw. The bore is very nice, with strong rifling. Rifle is mechanically excellent as well. This is a great starter for a nice custom hunting rifle, or to be reconverted to original military configuration.
