Very good overall example of a German WWII pith helmet, as issued to the Afrika Corps, as well as German soldiers fighting in the Mediterranean region.  Metal tri-color badge on right side and German eagle and swastika on left side.  Both badges in excellent condition.  Outer felt in near excellent condition.  Leather brim shows some crazing and loss, but just honest age wear.  Leather chinstrap intact and likewise in overall very good condition.  Inner felt in near excellent condition, with just some minor staining.  Underside brim leather also showing some loss and crazing.  Leather sweatband with sweat stains and some hardening at front, but supple otherwise. Sweatband stamped with “JHS”.  Inner felt on the metal dome liner is near excellent and fully intact.  A very nicely displaying example of a Nazi Afrika Corps pith helmet.
